United KingdomLyrical colour guides my process allowing diffusion and bloom to create soft atmospheric transitions drawn from the natural world and captured in the fluid dynamics of water colour pigment on paper.
My practice strives to instill the fleeting beauty of nature by navigating the delicate transition between careful observation and imaginative abstraction.
I paint flowers as portraits, capturing their vibrancy, strength and delicacy in the passing moments that they are most alive.
To me, my flower portraits are vessels of time, symbols of emergence, fullness and impermanence.
Ultimately, through my paintings, I seek to offer a space of stillness - a pause to reflect on the nature of transience as the pigment disperses, the edges soften and the forms emerge through layered transparency.
