Thomas' life as a photographer spans the arc from analogue photography with his own development laboratory in his youth to digital art photography. He is a self-taught photographer, but also frequently photographs with other internationally awarded photographers.   Finding motifs in order to turn them into photographic dream images requires patience and an eye. Seeing what seems inconspicuous. Capturing what remains hidden to most people. That is where Thomas finds his motivation, even though it often requires tough efforts to withstand the outdoors challenges. In the studio, the image is reworked: image cropping, colour adjustments, depth of field improvements, and contrast adjustment, but always within cautious boundaries  His photographs are regularly shown nationally and internationally in solo and joint exhibitions. Successes in 2025 at international competitions are 2 Honorable Mentions IPA2025, Gold and Silver Medal Nexus IPA2025, Silver and 2 x Bronze Epson Pano Awards, 2nd place Global Lens Awards, Finalist at Head On.
