TürkiyeMustafa Bilge Satkın is an award-winning documentary photographer and photojournalist based in Istanbul. His practice is defined by long-term documentary projects that address social injustice, migration, and environmental transformation, with a primary focus on Türkiye and the Middle East.
Satkın’s work has earned significant international recognition, including the 78th Pictures of the Year International (POYi) Environmental Vision Award, the Getty Images Editorial Grant, the Lucie Foundation Grant, and the Leica Grant. He is also the recipient of the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award and the Fondation des Treilles Photography Residency Prize.
His reportages are distributed and published through major international agencies, including Getty Images, AFP, Redux Pictures, and Middle East Images. His work has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Preus Museum (National Museum of Photography in Norway), Leica Gallery Vienna, Tasweer Photo Festival (Qatar), and Xposure International Photography Festival. His photographs are also held in the permanent collection of the Preus Museum. In addition to his independent work, Satkın collaborates as a volunteer photographer with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), documenting global initiatives focused on development and resilience.
