The Arts have always been an intrinsic part of my life. As a viewer, listener, and reader I have found connection and enrichment. As a creator, it is through the arts that I can express my joy and delight in this existence. As a child, I really had the best of two worlds. I lived in Brooklyn with my parents, my sister, and our dog. There were always friends to play with and so many wonderful places to go and things to see. The art museums were among my favorites, and our mother took us often. I also had the great luck to have been able to spend lots of time at my Great Grandmother’s magical house in the Catskills. There were woods to explore, enormous rocks to climb and faeries to look for. Here was where the artists in my family gathered and I felt that life was very rich, indeed. My paintings and fractal art have been exhibited at Belmar Arts Center, The Art Alliance of Monmouth, Monmouth Arts, the Guild for Creative Art, and with the Jersey Artist Registry at Oyster Point Gallery; all in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As a musician, in addition to writing original music, I play the traditional and early Music of the British Isles and Italy. My instruments are my voice, harp, mountain dulcimer, recorder, and pennywhistle. I’ve performed in Medieval and Renaissance Festivals, as well as Charity events, benefits, weddings, and First Nights, and theatrical productions. I’ve also been truly fortunate in having spent 24 years as the music and art Teacher of a school for young children. The work, which didn’t seem like work, was extremely rewarding and I have to say that I was as inspired by the children as I hope they were by me.
