Born in Turkey in 1945, Nezih Danyal has been drawn cartoons and comic strips for over a hundred publications since 1960. He has won numerous awards in national and international competitions and held exhibitions in various cities both in Turkey and abroad "The Global Anatolian Exhibition was shown in various European cities, primarily Berlin, Rotterdam, and Paris. The cartoons were acquired by museums and private collections." "The Era," one of his six cartoon albums, won an award at an international cartoon competition held in Pescara, Italy. He prepared the "Let's Draw Cartoons" guide book for those new to cartooning. He used his drawings in various art forms, from posters and theater sets to book covers and animated films. He portrayed characters reminiscent of Cemal Nadir for a TV program prepared to commemorate Cemal Nadir. He won an award for "Opening Credits Film" at the Third Balkan Film Festival. He organized caricature courses at institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, METU, BILAR, Sanatevi, and the Cartoon Foundation. In 1980, he was awarded the "Contribution to National Culture" award by the Art Lovers Association. In 1993, he proposed the opening of the "Ministry of Culture World Cartoon Gallery". He ensured that international exhibitions were held for two years. He founded the "Cartoon Foundation" in 1994. Since 1995, he organized the "International Ankara Cartoon Festival" every year. From 1991 for seven years, he prepared and presented the "Cartoon of the Week" segment within the "Gün Başlıyor" (The Day Begins) program broadcast on TRT1. Nezih Danyal was the president of FECO (Federation of European Cartoonists' Associations) Turkey. Through his connections with cartoonists in nearly 100 countries, he played a major role in the development of cartoons worldwide. He passed away in 2025, but his thousands of works, through the concept of "a Nezih Danyal cartoon in every home," will live on forever thanks to art-loving collectors.
