Stefanie Zweifel is a Swiss artist and co-founder of ooohhh.art, an independent art practice shared with Bastiaan van Ederen. Growing up in Zürich, she developed an early sensitivity to objects, materials and the quiet details that give things lasting presence. She studied Industrial Product Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Basel, where her work often explored the space between function, form and artistic expression. During her studies, Stefanie developed a deep interest in ceramics and Japanese approaches to craft, restraint and everyday beauty. This led her to Japan, where she apprenticed with a ceramic master in Tokyo and Seto. That experience continues to influence her way of seeing: attention to material, balance, tactility, imperfection and the emotional quality of simple forms. After moving to Amsterdam, Stefanie worked across photography, design and visual production. After more than a decade creating visual work for others, her practice developed into the autonomous work she now creates through ooohhh.art. Her work moves across photography, digital composition and mixed media, exploring colour, composition, perception, atmosphere and visual balance. She brings a strong sensitivity to materiality and form to artworks that often sit between the photographic, graphic and abstract. Her works are developed as collectible limited editions, with close attention to how an image changes through scale, context and repeated viewing.
