I was born in Istanbul in 1975. In 1997, I graduated from the Graphic Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. Between 1997 and 2001, I worked at various advertising agencies. In 2002, I founded my graphic design studio, Basako Graphics. During this period, I continued my artistic and painting practice. Since 2011, I have been participating in exhibitions and presenting my work. With a background in graphic design, I feel most at ease in my paintings and artistic practice. This is reflected in various techniques such as collage, typography, and digital media, as well as oil, acrylic, and watercolor. As an artist living and producing within this geography, themes such as belonging, home, motherhood, the city, and migration form the core of my work. I enjoy creating series and exploring them in depth.
