"The Series Lombardy has been one of the most difficult to realise, having found myself so emotionally attached to the place and its people," reveals Crawford, who visited the mountainous region of the Valli Intelvi, Lombardy, Italy in November 2019, just before the Coronavirus outbreak. A complex use of analogue photography is an instinctive reaction to creating Torn I in its final art form.
