A Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B departing BAe Woodford, Cheshire, after the late 1980s Avionics Update Programme, ASR 1012. Despite having a basic design that dated from the 1950s, the ‘Bucc’ went on to provide years of valuable service, culminating in the provision of laser-guided weapon target designation and delivery during the 1991 Gulf war.
