A quiet stretch of countryside outside Pienza, Italy, where a road lined with pruned Italian stone pines cuts through open Tuscan fields beneath a soft sky. Unlike tall cypresses, these stone pines form a low canopy shaped over time into a rhythmic line. Part of my 365-day watercolor challenge, this piece captures a fleeting roadside moment defined by repetition, structure, and atmosphere in the Val d’Orcia.
