This in-camera double exposure pairs a sharply defined holly oak forest with a “painted” sky created through intentional camera movement. The sky, made by photographing an autumn aspen forest upside down — while moving the camera — transforms leaves and light into abstraction. I’m drawn to the contrast between forest and sky, real and imagined, where clarity and motion meet in a single, suspended moment of place, memory, and imagination.
