The ancient ruins of Avdat sit along a ridge in Israel's Negev Desert, almost absorbed into the landscape surrounding them. Once part of a Nabataean settlement along ancient desert trade routes, the ruins remain as a small but enduring human presence within the immense landscape. Created as part of my ongoing 365 Days of Travel Watercolors project.
