Located across the street from the family home in Rudniki, Ukraine, this weathered building may have been connected to a family flour mill once powered by a nearby stream. Layers of repair, adaptation, and time reveal a structure that continued serving its purpose long after the people connected to its earliest history were gone. Painted as part of a roots journey, the watercolor explores how small discoveries help reconnect family stories to the landscape where they began.
