In 2009, Ralf Schultheiß traveled to New York City, following in the footsteps of books. Based at the Library Hotel, he explored the city’s libraries and those special places where literature and New York history intersect. To mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, selected works are presented on hemp paper – as a historical reference to the materials and craftsmanship of the founding era.
