During a roots journey to Rudniki, now part of Mostyska, Ukraine, we searched for the house where my wife's mother and grandmother had lived before World War II. At the time, we weren't certain which house it was. Only after returning home did we receive confirmation that this was the one. This watercolor preserves a place where family history once lived and reflects the fragile connection between memory, place, and the stories that survive across generations.
