More than thirty-five years ago, a sleepless night during a nature tour in the Negev Desert led to an unexpected reward. Before sunrise, a small group of ibex appeared along a rocky ridge silhouetted against the growing light. This watercolor captures that brief moment when the desert was still mostly in shadow and the day had not yet begun. Part of an ongoing series exploring landscape, memory, and place through daily watercolor painting.
