Two small ibex move across a narrow ledge within the rocky landscape of Israel's Negev Desert, their muted forms nearly disappearing into the surrounding stone. Pale geological layers, warmer rock, dry grasses, and patches of vegetation create a landscape in which the animals are present without dominating it. This watercolor concludes a fifteen-painting exploration of the Negev within my ongoing 365 Days of Travel Watercolors project.
