A simple line of fence posts curves across the immense pale surface of the Etosha Pan in northern Namibia. With little more than sky, salt, clay and a distant horizon, the posts become the structure of the composition, giving depth and scale to an almost featureless landscape. This small watercolor explores how a few marks can organize an enormous space and how even the simplest line can tell us where we belong.
