Two visitors in straw hats sit on a green bench beside the water in Bourton-on-the-Water, looking across toward lawns, trees and Cotswold stone buildings. Rather than presenting the village as a distant picturesque view, this small watercolor captures the simple experience of stopping long enough to sit within it and watch the place go by.
