Part of my Poland & Ukraine Roots Journey within an ongoing 365-day watercolor project, this painting depicts the oldest woman we met in Rudniki, Ukraine. While searching for family history, we hoped she might provide answers about the past. Instead, what stayed with me was her quiet presence, garden-stained hands, and gentle voice. The watercolor reflects memory, human connection, and the unexpected encounters that become part of every journey.
